OT: running 3640 without fans in lab environment

I've got a 3640 in my home lab and the 2 fans are very loud. Has anyone run
these with the fans unplugged? What is the operating temparature range for a
3640? I assume the environment monitor will alert me if the system gets
warm.

Anyone doing the same? Any other ideas for making them quieter?
