Daniel,
Get into config mode, then type the following...
1. TS(config)#partition flash 1 16
This will combine the two 8 meg flash to one 16 partition.
2. TS#sh flash all

Executing current image from System flash
Notice how I have two chips but the flash is displayed as 16384. You are on the
right track by erasing the 1st partition. Give it a try and let us know how it
went.
