Failed upgrade due to flash partition?

Group,

I am in the process of upgrading my IOS to a 2513 w/ 16/16. Originally it
only had 1 flash memory stick and 1 flash partition. After I inserted the
send 8 MB stick, "show flash" and "show version" displays 2 partitons. So I
went erased the 2nd partition and then went into "config t" and did a
"partitition flash 1" to have only 1 partition. Next I did a "copy tftp
flash", but the process failed in the middle.

I am not in ROM mode running the backup IOS. Everytime I try to do a "copy
tftp flash" now, I get the following error message:

Router(boot)#cop tft flas

Am I missing something obvious? Is it because I have not properly
re-partitioned? If so, how do I do that? Please help.
