Personally, I think a lot of the people on this list are totally studying
the wrong way. I believe in studying smarter and not harder. It's pretty
well known that we don't learn the most efficiently by ramming more and more
information all the time -- you need to study a little, take a break, study
a little more, take a break, DO SOMETHING ELSE, study, etc. Keep some other
stuff in the mix -- family, exercise, working out, whatever works for you to
relieve stress and stay healthy. It's easy for this thing to consume you if
you let it. Face it, none of use are ever going to know everything about
every possible topic that could possibly be on this test, so don't even try
to go down that road. Do the best you can without killing yourself and if
you don't pass, figure out what you need to work on and try again. I don't
see the point in neglecting your family and friends for the whole duration
of this thing. As far as myself, I'll hit the Warehouse District or 6th
Street here in Austin (bars / clubs downtown for those who have never been
down here) every once and a while and head outside everyday to do something
after work. I usually do some mountain biking and hit the gym. During the
day at work I'll spend time off and on hitting the books or CCO and
telnetting to the lab at home. If I am in town for the weekend, I'll do the
same for part of the day, but I definitely take time off as well. As is, I
have no stress about this thing, even though I am totally aware of the fact
that I may not pass it the first time and retakes are expensive and the
lines long (I'm paying for this all on my own, as are a lot of you). The
sun will rise the next day either way... I think if you keep this thing in
the right perspective it makes it easier to bear.
BTW, Chris, thanks for all the humor in this mailing list. We need more
people like this in here to help us all keep our sense of humor (a difficult
task with all the over-serious...).
Anyway, just my $.02.
Take care and good luck to all of you,
-Jeff
