Thats not a true statement at all. It depends on what type of trunking your
using, whether you using authentication or not, SNMP or logging. I have a
couple of 4006 running tacacs, SNMP, logging, and mutliple vlans with ISL
and the Utilization never gets over 15%. Have you tried MLS?? (multi-layer
switching)
What MLS does is allows it so that when one node on a VLAN needs to exchange
packets with another VLAN it doesnt have to traverse to a remote router
everytime for packet transfer, its done at a router that is closest toa the
4006. Also check your spanning tree and VTP server settings.
