OSPF misunderstanding

Here is something I just stumbled over and am a little puzzled by. Network
config is like ascii picture below...

 R4
  I
  I
  I
Frame----------------R2
  I I
  I vlan20
  I I
R7 ------------------CAT5--------isl trunk------------R6
         vlan70 I
                         vlan50
                            I
                          R5

R2/R4 and R7 are connected over the frame cloud and OSPF area 0 runs there
only. Vlans 20/50/70 are all trunked on R6 which performs router on a stick.
R4 has an ethernet LAN running OSPF area 2. OSPF area 3 runs on all the vlan
links between R2/R7/R5 and R6. Dilemma: R5 and R6 only have OSPF area 3
defined under their OSPF processes yet I can still see complete routes to all
other OSPF networks!! I am puzzled why I do not need a virtual link on R5 and
R6 to R2 or R7 see the other OSPF networks. I can ping any and all OSPF
networks from any and all routers. Anyone know why????

Cheers
