RE: OSPF unequal cost load balancing

Got any idea when this was added? And what it really refers to? All of the
documents I have read say that 4 is the max.

If you check the doc CD, the maximum-paths command appears under the
protocol independent command reference.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/ip_r
/iprprt2/1rdindep.htm#xtocid2797020
( watch the wrap )

and not under the OSPF command reference

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/ip_r
/iprprt2/1rdospf.htm

I don' have the means of testing, but I believe that you will not get more
than four under ospf and can get six only under eigrp or static routing.

Anyone tested this?

Chuck

I think you can increase the number of equal cost paths it will hold.

Border(config-router)#maximum-paths ?
  <1-6> Number of paths
