Question, where is the ping starting from in case, when you ping from the
router. I guess that is one drawback of using ip unnumbered.

I ran across a situation where I have a dialer profile (dialer0) was
using the local loopback IP address (ip unnumbered loopback0). The
remote interface was using DDR, dialer map.
The local loopback IP address was 10.201.201.254 255.255.255.0
The remote dialer map interface was 10.200.200.200.80 255.255.255.0
The local routing table had a static entry for 10.200.200.80/32 on
dialer0
When pinging the remote interface from the local router, it is
unreachable.
When pinging the remote interface from a host on the local router's
Ethernet segment, the remote interface is reachable.
Why is this?
Is this because the dialer0 IP address (from the loopback0) is not on
the same network as the remote interface (although they still pass
network traffic, because of the static route to the interface)???
