I dont know that there is a good generic way to backup per dlci
without using subinterfaces. One alternative comes to mind which
might work in some circumstances. If there is some route which is
learned via the dlci you want to back up and if that route will be
withdrawn from the routing table if the dlci fails, then I would
suggest that you try a floating static route for that particular
route with the static route pointing at the BRI. If you do not
have a route which is learned only over that particular dlci then
this would not work.
