Steve: Re. ECP1 - ECP1 can give you an edge, identify weak areas, and
give additional practice in the technologies with a variety of
scenarios. ECP1 is not a substitute for thorough preparation and
practice; you should be prepared before you take the class. The
OSPF/BGP classes offered by Mentor are recommended before taking ECP1.
(Disclaimer: I work for Mentortech, and am one of the ECP1
instructors.)
You can catch comments on ECP1 by searching the posts (in particular
note the posts that have CCIE # or CCIE# in the subject line, a number
of those reporting have attended the course).
I looked at a copy of the Halabi second edition and noted that prefix
lists are in the second edition but not in the first. I judge it a good
update and will be ordering it to complement my worn copy of the first
edition.
Cheers, Fred.
