Hi,
You are getting lots of input errors, CRCs as well as
carrier transistions. Clear the counters to reset
these values and then wait a few minutes and check the
interface stats again to see how many errors have
occured since counters were cleared.
You can do a local loopback on the CSU and this will
bring the interface up/up with ppp or hdlc encaps on
Ciscos. If you're getting errors still after the above
clear counters, do a clear counters after local
loopback is in place and see if they increase. If your
not getting errors with a local loopback then the
errors are coming from beyond the CSU's data port
(cabling to smartjack, circuit, etc). Also do same on
remote end to defiantly point it back to carrier. Also
double check CSU/DSU config to make sure it is
correct.
Data-port clocking is usually internal. Network port
is usually loop if carrier is doing clock. Some
CSU/DSUs have different terms so it may vary.
