CISCO NO LONGER MAINTAINS WAIT LIST FOR LAB

Hi all ccie candidates,

I just got off the phone with Christine, Cisco's ccie lab coordinator, (who
by the way is incredibly pleasant), and she informed me of a number of
interesting things.

1) The backlog to take the lab in North America is still 6 to 7 months at
all 3 locations. As of right now, the earliest available lab date is in
November.

2) If you already have a date sometime out in the distant future and want an
earlier date YOU CAN NO LONGER BE WAIT LISTED. CISCO NO LONGER MAINTAINS A
WAIT LIST FOR EXAM DATES. Today, to the best of my knowledge, if you want an
earlier date YOU HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO SWAP DATES WITH YOU BY GOING TO
GROUPSTUDY'S LAB SWAP MESSAGE BOARD.

3) Cisco, according to Christine, will soon be scheduling lab dates via a
new on-line scheduler and to the best of her knowledge, this new online
scheduler will not (at least initially) provide a wait list function. So,
again, if you're hoping for an earlier date you need to find someone to swap
dates with you.

The reason I had this conversation with Christine, as you may have guessed,
is because I want to reschedule my lab date (May 24 & 25 in Halifax) for a
date a few weeks later.

So, if you are one of those candidates who feels ready to take the exam but
are being forced to wait several months because of the backlog and you had
yourself wait listed for an earlier date, fagetabatit. You will never be
called. If you want an earlier lab date in North America, (again, as far as
I know) the only way is to post your interest on GroupStudy Lab Swap Message
board. (Christine informs me that Sydney has open dates in June if you feel
like traveling - For some bizarre reason, the idea of going down under and
taking the ccie lab conjures up thoughts of a new reality TV show. (go
configure)).
