I concur with dennis. All PPP encapsulation does is allow you to do
authentication and have more overhead then HDLC. If you have PPP
encapsulation on one end of the router and not the other then obviously you
know your problem. Both rotuers running the Cisco proprietary default
shouldnt have a issue, so the most likely cause in my opinion is the switch
type setup or a error in the line itself.
