Could someone verify if SVCs are possible with 2 1401 routers back-to-back
as explained below. Some more info/ref will be much appreciated.
Many thanks & regards.

Hello Tariq,
To connect 2 ATM25 ports on 2 x 1401 back-to-back, you will need an ATM25
cross cable with pin assignment as follows:
CONNECTOR 1, PIN 1 -> CONNECTOR 2, PIN 7
CONNECTOR 1, PIN 2 -> CONNECTOR 2, PIN 8
CONNECTOR 1, PIN 7 -> CONNECTOR 2, PIN 1
CONNECTOR 1, PIN 8 -> CONNECTOR 2, PIN 2
If you have an ATM switch, then all you need is a straight through cable.
You can also do ATM SVCs using 2 ATM routers back-to-back. Well, I don't
have any experience on ATM SVCs using Cisco routers, but my guess is that
you need to configure one ATM25 port as UNI user side and the other ATM25
port as UNI network side.

Sorry to hasel you. What type of cable will I need for ATM25 ports on 2 x
1401 back to back to simulate the ATM WAN link? What type of cable will I
need if I get a ATM switch?
Also someone told me that you could do ATM SVCs as well with 2 ATM routers
back to back. Have you managed this?
Many thanks & regards.

Hello,
We are using Cisco 1401 model which has a dedicated ATM25 WAN port and 1
ethernet port. You can simply connect the ATM25 ports on 2 x 1401 back to
back to simulate the ATM WAN link.

Someone has explained that it is possible to use 25 mb/s ATM router modules
& connect them to a LS1010 for WAN ATM setup. Is there anyone using 25 mb/s
ATM router modules? What type of ATM switch & the module card are you using?
25 mb/s cards are obviously cheaper to get, so any guidance on this will be
much appreciated.
Many thanks & regards.
