RE: Redistributing OSPF /22 to IGRP /24, same mayor network

To be honest with you all I don't believe the purpose of a RIP/IGRP
question in the CCIE Lab is to go into such "non-standard", inventive
configuration (although it seems it would work).
The Tech Notes and Config Guides under CCO and the CD specify the IP Route
redistribution into RIP as the recommended "workaround" for the
"primitive" behavior of classful DV routing protocols as RIP and IGRP in
these situations. In this case I really don't see why we shouldn't use statics.

I think the "don't use statics or defaults" statement is really not to let
you "plug" your "holes" in the dynamic routing with static routing.

So, I would advise you to ask the proctor if statics in this case would be
acceptable (if necessary), I think this is a smart question, since this is
the Cisco recommend config. And if not then "invent" ... :)

Cheers,
Josi
