John,
Hello! The issue is that it is ATM ILMI PVC discovery. ILMI is being us
ed
to discover the PVC number. Have you configured ILMI on the routers? You
need to add the Well-Known PVC 0 16 for ILMI. I haven't tried routers back
to back, but I have been able to do it with a router connected to an ATM
switch. On the major interface with no other PVCs' or subinterfaces add the
command:
"atm ilmi-pvc-discovery". To see the results do a "show atm pvc". Once you
have discovered the PVC, you can remove ILMI and the "atm
ilmi-pvc-discovery" command and hard-code the PVC on the major interface or
subinterfaces.
HTH,
Dave

Subject: ATM PVC Discovery
Hey Folks,
I have been toying with PVC discovery. I haven't been able to make heads of
tails of it. A few questions for any of you ATM gurus...
1. Can it be simulated with a Back-to-back ATM connection (no switch)? If
not,
that could be 100% of my problem.
2. What commands are required on each side to make it work? I tried what the
Cisco CD said but with no luck.
3. After configuring the router for ATM discovery what debug or show
commands
should I use to discover a pvc?
Any thoughts?
John
