Good POINT !!!

I think that only a lab would help !

>From my personal experience I have found out that metric from
one OSPF process to another one, metric is preserved.

Hope this helps.

Elias

Subject: Redistributing OSPF 1 into OSPF 2

Hello friends

I was reading throught the Documentation CD about OSPF and was confused by
one of the lines in it.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/12cgcr/np1_r
/1rprt1/1rindep.htm#xtocid21152152

In particular this line

"When routes are redistributed between OSPF processes, no OSPF metrics are
preserved."

Then two lines below this it says

"Furthermore, when the router redistributes from one OSPF process to another
OSPF process on the same router, and if no default metric is specified, the
metrics in one process are carried to the redistributing process."

So are the metrics preserved or not??

Could someone explain this to me

Thanks

Sam
