One of the things that totally saved me was creating a list of IP addresses
(every interface on every router) and show ip route statements on notepad.
If you set the delay in hypterm to like 50ms or something you can copy and
paste and watch them all run. You will see any IP addresses or routes that
are missing. That really helped me catch interfaces being shut or some
routing missing. It also gave me the chance to make notes of why certain
networks or IP's were not available (i.e. were supposed to be filtered or
not reachable).
