Thank you for showing me the alternative direction.
I have read the white paper and practised in my lab. I move my
laptop(10.1.1.195) to another subnet and change default-gateway
(192.168.1.250). I telnet to R2 sucessfully. In R2 routing table,
there is an entry of 10.1.1.195 with M code. It seems fine, hmm.
Then I found my problem -- I can't ping my laptop through R2,
although I have telneted to it. There is an entry of my laptop's
MAC address, when I "show arp" on R2. In R1's routing table,
there is not a host route of 10.1.1.195(My laptop's IP address).
Can you tell me what 's the matter?
Topo & conf as follows:
|10.1.1.250/16
|-------R1--------/ |
| -----------R2----- |
192.168.1.250/24
|
R1:
int e0
ip add 10.1.1.250 255.255.0.0
ip mobile arp
int s0
ip add 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0
router mobile
router ospf 10
net 10.1.1.250 0.0.0.0 are 0
net 192.168.2.1 0.0.0.0 are 0
redist mobile
default-metric 10
R2:
int e0
ip add 192.168.1.250 255.255.255.0
int s0
ip add 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0
router ospf 10
net 192.168.1.250 0.0.0.0 are 0
net 192.168.2.2 0.0.0.0 are 0

Search for "Mobile IP" - it does a reasonable job explaining the
difference.
