Nope, I mean his interface is an ISL trunk but only has a sub-interface
defined in say vlan 2. A simple typeo after the isl keyword is all it
takes. If the device on the other side of the switch he's trying to ping is
on a port in a different vlan, he'll never get there. The interface will be
up on it's own private vlan with no listening.
