Greetings fellow list-members!
This past Thursday in Halifax, I achieved my goal of passing the CCIE L
ab
am now CCIE #6963. This was my first attempt and I owe a part of my success
to this community. I want to take a moment and thank all the members who
have asked intelligent questions and those who have taken the time to
respond. I have for the most part been a reader of the list and only
answered a few posts. Usually because the answer was already there! At
times, the signal-to-noise ratio can be low, but if you take the time to
read the posts and go back to the achieves you will find a lot of key
information that is hard to find elsewhere. Having said that, I should also
say that I spent over a year preparing for the exam. I did this by starting
with the taking the courses and passing the CCNA and then the CCNP. I read
the standard list of books. I took ECP-1 four times (Disclaimer: I work
for Mentor Technologies and was a lab assistant for these classes, so I if I
say they are awesome, I might be biased :-). This list and CCO were great
resources for studies especially on cutting-edge issues and tips. I also
put in my practice time with labs. I highly recommend the CCBootCamp labs,
FatKid labs, Mentor Technologies V-Labs (Disclaimer again) to challenge you.
In my opinion, there are no shortcuts but if you pay your dues and work
hard, it can be done!!!
To everyone on the list and those responsible for supporting it, Thanks
!!!
For everyone preparing, Good Luck!!!
Dave
