Hi, as the cisco Doc. said, VAD can save BW in VoIP
network.

 In a lab with two VoIP routers (c2600 and MC3810)

phoneA---[c2600] =============[MC 3810]----phoneB

either applying "VAD" or applying "no VAD" on interfaces
and then turn on "deb ip pack detail ".

While making a call w/ or w/o vocie, the output of debug
shows no diference for the amount of packets:

 "s= x.x.x.x, d=y.y.y.y"
 (x.x.x.x and y.y.y.y are the IP of IPv4:<ip address> )

Is there any way to verify the VAD affect ?

What about the "deb ip udp " or using sniffer , answer
machine ...?

Thanks,

Jim
Fri.
