Nope - need a minimum 2600 router with fast ethernet. It is not supported
on the 17xx platform either

If you have a CCO login ( I believe this may have to be a partner login )
you can use the link below to check out feature and platform support

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/FeatureNav/FN.pl

As an aside, we can be cynical and say Cisco wants people to spend more
money. Why support a feature on a low end device and cut into your revenue
stream? But I can also say that I have dealt with too many customers who
want to do things as cheaply as possible, many times to the detriment of
network performance and stability. Hey lets put in a two hundred user VPN -
can I use my 2501 router as the termination point? Can I use this old 1604
router to do inter VLAN routing for my 5000 user enterprise? Yes Mr.
Customer, but you won't like what happens ;->

What about dot1q? can a 2500/1600 do this over a 10Mb Ethernet?

Zhan,
The lowest model cisco router to support ISL is the 2600 model.
One thing to note is that ISL requires a Fast Ethernet port. There was a
thread on this a couple of weeks back. Basically this sums it all up.
