I wish I could remember the name of the place I stayed last time... It was
not particularly close to the lab, but the price was the cheapest in town.
Over the phone, they seemed to be a bit reluctant to take my reservation,
but eventually I managed to get one. When I arrived, they did NOT have any
record of my reservation, but had a room available nonetheless...

The parking lot of this place was an open-air drug market after dark, and
the rooms seemed to be routinely used by hookers. The other occupants were
biker-types and other sorts of low-life transients. During the second day of
my stay, I was carrying in a number of books from my car to the room, so I
left my door propped open. Some of the other occupants walked by, and I
could hear one remark "Hey! He's got a bathroom in his room!" Evidently they
did not...

I'll try to find my receipt so I can recommend it as one place NOT to stay
while in the area. The $59 per night price met my budget at the time, but
the environment was definitely contrary to a successful lab experience.

I am from Baltimore, so I don't scare easily, but this was one place I was
definitely glad to leave.
