A working example from a lab setup below. This is used for Async
connections 1-8.

Of note on the functioning of this command. Once the command is entered the
router will check its ARP cache for this IP address. If it is not found in
the cache it will send out an ARP request on the appropriate interface (E0
in the case below) for the IP address. If it does have an entry in the ARP
cache or gets a valid reply to the ARP query, you will receive the "Invalid
IP address" message.

                Subject: ip alias command?

I just ran across the "ip alias" command and am trying to
                understand it.

Say I have a terminal server with ip address 10.10.10.1 /24
and I want to use IP address 10.10.10.3 for port 2035.

                So I use "ip alias 10.10.10.3 2035"

But when I try this I get "invalid IP address".

I was using this doc for reference:

tm

Does anyone have a working example of this?

                Thanks,
                 Jennifer
