I used 12.0.14, but just as important are the feature sets. I was a master
at swapping out IOS versions until I read that you could used compressed
images. So I compressed a version of 12.0.14 that had firewall, IPSec,
encryption, plus and enterprise. The router simply decompresses the image on
boot-up. Cisco doesn't recommend it on production routers but for my 16 Mb
DRAM/8 Mb flash routers it worked great.

Subject: Pratice/Home Lab - stable IOS
Based on what cisco has identified in the CCIE R/S blueprint with =
respects to the IOS(12.0) image(s) used on the lab exam, I was wondering =
what most of you were using as a standard across router =
platforms(models). What has been defined as the safe(stable) images =
specifically for the following models.
2501 - 2525
2600
4000
I've been using various IOS images and revisions from 11.0(22) AGS+ to =
12.1(6).=20
Any thoughts or suggestions..
Nigel.
