I made it through in RTP yesterday. It makes a good Valentine's day present
for my wife. I didn't get a post-it note, though. All I got was the
certificate and the letter.
Thanks to everyone on the list. I could not have done it without this
group. I did not get to go to ECP1, ASET, or any training classes. I have
all the usual books. I got allot from Sam Halabi's OSPF design guide, BGP
design guide, as well as his book, Internet Routing Architectures. Doyle is
a great reference book. I didn't get it in time to read it cover to cover.
I've have had several lab dates over the last four years. Not enough to set
the record, but too many. I passed the written the first time in '96 and
have been working on the lab ever since.
I don't reccommend my method to anyone. Now that there is an ECP1 class,
now that you can buy Marc's ccBootcamp labs, you should take advantage of
them.
This list is a great resource. I wish we were better at finishing the
threads. Too many threads just end with no answer, no resolution, no
working configs.
There was something about starting the lab without showing a picture ID, but
the CCIE lab is not really the place where you want to be that familiar.
I'll be glad to not go back.
