For those who haven't been there, here's a summary of my experience. I
arrived at RTP day one, the proctor took us around the lab showed us how to
cable up our labs . We then went to our pods and started working on our
labs. I looked over the lab and to my surprise I knew 90% of what was on
there. I started to get a big head and that's when it went all down hill. I
configure my lab and was finished an hour after lunch. I check over the
thing I wasn't sure of and the rest I glanced at just to make sure it was
working. Day one over... I arrived at day two feeling' I had a good cushion
from day one to go into day two. The proctor ran over my configs and brought
me down to reality. He showed me STUPID mistakes that cost me very valuable
points. Anyway, I another guy survived to day two and started on my day two
lab. Looked at the book, "I know this stuff" except for on little thing. I
configured everything text book , documented, and checked my configs. I had
time to spare so I thought a get those extra point and play with the
question I wasn't sure of. Found what I thought was the answer, applied it
and the proctor informed us the it was time for lunch. After lunch the
proctor brought me to my lab and showed me what was wrong. To my surprise
the router that was the most popular on day 2 was all screwed up which cost
me MUCHO points. My ccie lab ended there. I looked around to see why my
router was not as I had left it. I removed the last thing I had done and the
router returned to normal. The other guy made simple mistakes also and was
sent home with me. The moral of this story is, stupid mistakes will kill
you, take your time and check every thing twice, and then check it again.
Also, If you not sure about something, don't configure it unless you REALLY
feel you need the points. It might end up costing you more points then it
worth. The lab is definitely passable, If you study hard it should be a
breeze. Time to get some needed sleep.

P.S. I have a lab date in RTP for aug 25 and 26 if anyone wants to trade for
anytime in March, let me know
