Yip!
I think it was while doing it on CCBOOTCAMP lab 8.
I was able to use the bgp default-orig command on other boxes, but assume
that the combination of other stuff configured on my 2500 was enough to push
the IOS over....
I ended up bypassing the problem by putting a default static on the
destination box!!
Perhaps I should have raised a TAC case to get the bug resolved - but I'm
studying here!!! No time for such pleasantries!

Subject: Weird problem...
Has anybody ever seen this before?
I added a "neighbor x.x.x.x default-originate" command under my BGP =
process for a session that is already up and running. It immediately =
crashes the router and causes it to reboot.
I'm running IOS 12.1(6) (C2500-JOS56I-L) on a 2514 with 16RAM/16FLASH.
Text capture is below:
r2#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
r2(config)#router bgp 1003
r2(config-router)#neighbor 135.3.7.41 default-originate
r2(config-router)#
