Hello People,

I have few questions:

1. When I configure only PIM sparse mode on the
routers, and configure "ip pim accept auto-rp" or
"static rp-address" on non-rp routers, do I need to
deny the auto-rp group addresses (224.0.1.39,
224.0.1.40)using group ACL's so that they always run
in dense mode. I am thinking that I need to since I am
not using "ip pim sparse-dense-mode" on the PIM
enabled interfaces which automatically runs those
groups in dense mode. Comments??
Do I need to do anything special on RP except "ip pim
send-rp-announce" and on MA except "ip pim
send-rp-discovery".. I mean do I need to have group
ACL's on these too also. Help would be really
appreciated.

2. Usually when I start RIPv2/EIGRP process, first
command I type-in is "no auto-summary" and under BGP
"no sync" & "no auto-summary". Is it OK to use these
commands in the lab if not specified not to do so.
These usually saves lot of time in troubleshooting.
Thoughts??

Vikas
