Hello Julie Ann and the Group,
I have read your previous posting regarding the multiple response you got
when pinging a multicast group . I have got into the same problem, and I
can't seem to find an answer.
I have a FR hub and spoke topology with MA on the hub and 2 RPs : 1 on the
hub and 1 on a spoke. Everything *looks* fine : my "sh ip mr" looks as
expected, and I can ping all interfaces for which I have configured "ip
igmp join-group". I have configured ip pim nbma-mode on the hub (fr
point-to-multipoint).
However ... when I ping a specific group which has 2 receivers, I get
sometimes up to 10 answers !!! I suspect this is due to the nbma multipoint
interface, but I have not been able to indentify the specific mechanism.
Have you managed to find an explanation to this phenomenon ?
Thank you,
Patrick.
