Cory,

You don't want to make the rip or sap packet size equal to the interface
MTU. The value you enter for the rip/sap packet size is for layer 4, I
believe. You've got to make sure the layer 2 and 3 headers added on to that
are less than the interface MTU. Found this out the hard way during an IPX
router rollout.

Subject: Token ring MTU

Hi all,

On Fatkid 421, question 11 asks you to configure RIP on the token ring
networks and utilize the mtu of token ring to push out RIP updates in the
most efficient manner.

I think that I need to use the "ipx rip-max-packetsize <x>" command, but the
largest value I can choose from is 4096, and my token ring mtu is 4464. How
do I get past this?
Thanks,
Cory
