Hello, The Group,
I am trying to find a generic fail-over solution for this topology (or any
looped topology with redistribution).
R1--R2--R3 RIP
| | |
R4--R5--R6 RIP/OSPF
| | |
R7--R8--R9 OSPF
R1, R2, R3 are running RIP only (or IGRP/EIGRP)
R4, R5, R6 are redistributing routers
R7, R8, R9 are running OSPF only.
Specifically, I am looking for ways to converge if any of links fails.
While redistributing in a single point looks clear enough, looped
(redundant) networks are still tricky for me. Of course, no default
routing..
Do we have to set higher administrative distance for failed routes on
all redistributing routers? Something like floating static route ? I
searched on cisco site and groupstudy but couldn't find how to do
efficient redistribution in looped topology regardless what protocols I am
redistributing into what. Any formula on this ?
Thank you,
Nodir
