clear all authentication stuff ..have a clean ospf running...now
1. Apply the md5 keys on all ospf interfaces touching area 0.
run debug ip ospf adj...debug ip routing
2. enable area 0 authentication message-digest under router ospf
3. on the router which has a vlink, enable area 0 authentication
message-digest under router ospf
4. clear ip route *
5. Make sure all routes come back in after authentication /neighbors are
established.
You don't need to enable authentication on the transit area unless its a
requirement.

Subject: ospf md5 authentication
Hi, I have a virtual-link (area5) connected the backbone. My biggest
problem is I cannot get message-digest md5 to work when I apply it to area
0. I have put the message-digest md5 on all interfaces in all routers
touching area 0 including the loopback. I have even applied it to the
virtual-link and also to area 5, but I'm still not getting all routes. I
tried the "debug ip ospf event", but was not able to see anything strange.
Am I missing something?
