Thanks, Jay. Actually that was what I thought would happen. But when I set up
thescenario and did the lab, the router in RIP domain saw nothing from EIGRP
domain. If I enable debug ip rip on the redistribution router, I can see that
the router was sending a summary route of 80.0.0.0/8 to the RIP domain routers,
but because the RIP router already has a route with /24 in the same classful
network, the /8 router never got into the routing table. On the other hand, all
the /24 subnets in RIP domain, for example, 70.70.1.0/24, 70.70.2.0/24 can be
seen in all the EIGRP routers even though the boundary router was connecting to
the EIGRP domain using a /24 subent from 80.0.0./8, I am confused, can somebody
explain?
