In VoIP, you can use gatekeeper to have call setup and
tear-down messages to go through it instead of
signaling directly between the H323 endpoints. Your
audio traffic will still be passed between the
endpoints, the gatekeeper is for RAS functionality
(Registration/Admission/Status). All H323 endpoints
must be registered already before making a call.
You need ix-mz features on your box to have the GK
functionality.
