Jack,
The switch in my lab will not even take this (old version) : - is
for canonical format.
Console> (enable) set port secur 2/11 enab 01:02:03:04:05:06
Module 2 requires MAC address in canonical format (00-11-22-33-44-55)
Try typing it in as 00-00-0c-3e-9b-45 and it will be fine.
Yan

Subject: CAT OS Question
Set port security mod/port ena/dis mac addr
Anyone else notice that bitswapping takes place when you
enter a mac address
in?
For mac addr 0000.0c3e.9b45
I entered set por sec 5/2 ena 00:00:0c:3e:9b:45
and when I typed show port 5/2 here is what I got!
Port Security Secure-Src-Addr Last-Src-Addr
Shutdown Trap
----- -------- ----------------- -----------------
-------- --------
5/2 enabled 00-00-30-7c-d9-a2 No
disabled
Is this for Tokenring compatibility purposes? Can anyone
shed some light on
this for me?
Thanks,
JR
