If you use different ipx frame-types, you can define secondary IPX networks, bu
t this won't let you do some of the more advanced IPX features (IPX EIGRP, SAP
filtering, etc...)

The better way to do this would be as you suggested, use subinterfaces and defi
ne different networks on each subinterface.
