I know I promised not to plug Vlabs any more, but I can't resist offering
this:
The Slattery/Burton book Advanced IP Routing in Cisco Networks has a number
of exercises based on a six router pod. The setup is identical to the Vlab
#3646 six router open lab.
I have done this a couple of times now, and will do it several more times -
rent the Vlab, then go through as many of the Slattery/Burton exercises as I
can.
I do my diagram and addressing matrix first, set up my notepad file with my
basic universal commands, and go from there. I document as I go. I make
notes as I go. If something comes up and I have time left over, I can check
it. Or I can put together a scenario for the next try through.
That said, I believe that for the same cost as this particular Vlab, one can
rent 24 hour of time from NLI ( www.ccbootcamp.com )as opposed to the four
hours time from Mentor.
If your boss is paying, Vlabs can be very good for focusing on particular
things. If the money is coming from your own pocket, ccbootcamp is probably
a better use of your dollars.
FWIW
Chuck

Subject: VLAB vs. CCbootcamp
Hi everyone,
Anyone care to give their opinion on which is a better lab prep; VLAB or
CCbootcamp?
Thanks,
David
