My recommendation during the lab is to follow the following rules:

1) Never use the search engine.
2) If you are completely stuck and must use the search engine, please refer
to rule #1!
3) Use IOS release 12.1 as that has the latest commands. The master config
guide is broken down into 3 parts (A-F, G-R, S-Z) so it should load quicker
during lab exam as you're not loading the entire page.
4) I find it difficult to believe that anyone can know everything on that
cd (If they do, they need to get a life). My recommendation is to use the
"?" command on the router to see if you can configure it without referring
to the cd.
5) In every section such as DLSW, if you go to top of that section, there
should be a link to sample configurations.
6) I try to use the cd before refering to any books as in the lab, you don't
have that luxury.

The cd has the command reference from 12.1 all the way back to I think 9.1.
There are some configuration guides on the cd.

I would get familar with the CD and not use the IOS manuals. There are
manuals
in the lab but most people rarely use them. But don't depend too much on
the CD.
It should be looked at as a resource if you need it. If you configure what
you need to
with out referring to the CD it will save a lot of time. And time does get
to be a problem.
And the best way to get to this point is to go through the CD and practice
alot.
