Earl,
I saw where you asked about broadcast-permit on 2 June and got an answer from G
erard. I can't make it work as part of a dialer list. I still get:

Idle timer (103 secs), Fast idle timer (20 secs)
Wait for carrier (60 secs), Re-enable (3 secs)
Dialer state is data link layer up
Dial reason: appletalk (s=12800.4, d=0.255)
Time until disconnect 102 secs
Connected to 72974 (r6)

I've tried more than 5 different access-lists, but left 5 in the config for ref
erence. I really think 604 should work. I entered broadcast-deny at the end o
f the "deny cable-range 12800-12800" line in 605, but it gets dropped in a deny
 rule.

Network zero is not allowed, not is cable-range 0-0. Any ideas or should I give
 it up?

When you define your appletalk access list use the broadcast-deny keyword.

access-list access-list-number {deny | permit} network network
[broadcast-deny | broadcast-permit]

Happy New Year!

Does anyone know how to define a dialer-list so that appletalk
broadcasts are not interesting, but other apple traffic is?

After the call is up, I want broadcasts so appletalk EIGRP will work,
but I don't want hellos to keep the call up. I'd rather use a static
route to bring up the call.

TIA

Charles
