Gordon,
It is widely known that the search engine on the Doc CD is crap. For 95% of
your information, go to "IOS software configuration" located on the home
page. Once there choose 12.0 as that is what the Lab tests (plus earlier
versions). Under 12.0 is "Configuration Guides and Command References".
There's your information. Read and practice every chapter except the 'other
networking protocols (part 3) such as Decnet, and "Voice, Video, and Home
Applications" for the most part; also don't get bogged down in the "Dial
Solutions" chapter or too deep into "IBM Networking". You must know DLSw.
PS I do not believe that password recovery is on the Doc CD is it?

Subject: Hints on Documentation CD searching
I was under the impression that searching the Docmentation CD and Cisco's
web site was the same, it isn't. I was searching for a document on password
recovery for 2500 series router and I was using "password recovery" in the
search box on the Doc CD, it does not return the same thing as Cisco's web
site. The web site has the Document I was looking for the CD does not. The
Documentation CD I am using is August 2000.
Can anyone offer any clues on how to successfully search the CD? I always
use the Web site but I want to start getting comfortable with the CD - for
Lab.
Appreciate any input,
Gordon
