RE: SolutionLabs

- Depends on what routers types you possess.

  * If you understand "reverse telnet", you could lose the
    terminal server (Con).

  * If you have extra serial interfaces, you could have a
router act as a router, and as the frame-relay switch.

  * Some customers have combined the "backbone" routers
(B7) and (B8) and adapted the lab scenarios to fit.

  * When you mention "small Catalyst", I am guessing that
you refer to a 19xx/29xx/35xx Switch IOS based switch.
For all intents and purposes, you could use dumb hubs
to replace a Cat55xx based VLANs. You would have to
read through - or emulate with you Catalyst, additional
    features that the materials cover.

  * Without a ATM switch, if your routers have ATM interfaces
you could practice the manual PVC scenario. Any ATM
service requiring SVC's, such as RFC 1577 and LANE you
could not accomplish. Other customers have used less
expensive ATM switches, such Fore/Marconi or IBM.

  * Without Voice Modules, it's pretty hard to emulate Voice.
    Sorry. . .

  * The Workbook v1.20 materials still give you the step by
step configuration walkthru needed to understand the
concepts required by the various covered technologies
for the equipment that you have not yet acquired.

--- Hope this helps ---

Has anybody tried the Solution Labs at www.solutionlabs.com? I know most
won't have 11 routers along with the LS1010, 5505, and voice cards in their
home lab. I only have 7 routers and a small CAT. Has anybody used these and
made adjustments to the lab scenerios to fit their set up? If so, give me
some examples.
