Vlabs thoughts

For those who might be looking for some lab practice, one place you might
look is the Mentor Tech Vlabs.

There are some interesting ones that have been giving me, at least, a pretty
good idea of things I need to pay more attention to, and areas I need to
practice more.

One of the good things about the Vlabs is that they don't give you a lot of
room for error. So there is the incentive to practice one's methodology for
setting up, reviewing, and whipping out multiple router configurations
quickly.

Yes they can be a bit pricey. But there are ways to approach this.

For example, Cisco and Mentor Tech are partnering to make the Vlab library
available to employees of Cisco and Cisco sales partners. I don't know for
certain, but I strongly suspect, that Cisco customers in good standing can
probably get access to a free lab or two through their Cisco sales team.

Or, for those whose employers are actively supporting their certification
efforts, one might suggest to the boss that an investment in Vlabs is worth
considering. I believe that Mentor Tech offers volume discounts.

I don't get anything for saying nice things about Vlabs. So readers need not
worry that I am pitching this for any gain. Just a thought.
