You can make the router resolve any name from the DNS server by using this
two commands:
ip domain-name xyz.com
ip name-server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ( IP address of your DNS server )
As a result you should be able to ping any device by using their hostname
from the router

Hello,
Probably a stupid question, but can a Router be set up to act as a DNS =
Server for Remote hosts/ routers........if so how.............I can get =
the router to resolve locally configured names using the usual stuff, I =
tried using name-server to point to a Router, I can see the DNS requests =
coming in but the Router ignores them.................do I need to =
enable some sort of service...........
Thanks
Damien
