Losing connectivity

   Hi all,
   Maybe off topic.
   A router with one ethernet port connected to the LAN and one serial
   port to an ISP. When someone in the LAN is using softwares such as
   NetAnts to download big files, a problem repeatedly appears that the
   ethernet port cannot be attached from the LAN for a while. I think it
   may be caused by congestion and configure WRED on the serial port, but
   it seems to have no effection. Did anyone have experience of this
   before? Any ideas?
