ATM inverse-arp

ATM question....Prior to version 12, the only way to set up PVC's was with
the map-list/map-group configuration (as far as I can tell)....If this is
the case, what good is inverse ARP? I realize that inverse ARP for ATM only
works for IP, but does this mean that I can configure IP PVC's without a
map-list? If the router can dynamically learn the IP address at the other
end of the VC, what do I need the map-list for? In all the examples in the
configuration guide, they use a map-list. If you have to map the remote IP
address to a local VC manually, inverse arp seems useless.
