For the purposes of the lab, while technically anthing can be on there, the
CCIE lab has not managed to stay on the "bleeding edge" stuff, and on
purpose. So I wouldn't concern myself with MBGP, MSDP, PGM or anything like
that from 12.1... It's fun stuff though, but I can tell you with certainty
that it won't be on the lab for quite a while.

Subject: multicast

I finished reading the cisco multicast book today (well yesterday, it's
2:00am now) and hunkered down for a IOS configuration guide session. started
out with the 11.3 config guide and blew though it pretty quickly (it was
cake with the theory being so fresh in my mind). well I looked at the 12.1
config guide and man did the list of features grow! Features not even
mentioned in the book, which was published this year!

should I call the 11.3 stuff good or should I hump it through the 12.1
config guide?
