Another silly question...
when I set mac addresses on things i want to keep track of I usually use the
the OUI portion of the address to specify If it's a ring, ring group, or
bridge group, and the ring/bridge number. for the Rest of the MAC I use the
signifigant porion of the IP address for the interface (subnet/hostid), or
the VLAN number if I'm rooting a spanning tree. Other than staying away
from the Multicast and RII bits are there any pitfalls to this practice?
