Be careful 2900 and 5000 have the same architecture, but 2948G-L3 is very
different even in configuration, it's a true layer 3 switch and you have to
configure IRB on it to make it work.

Subject: The 2948G-L3
I don't have a 2948G-L3 switch but from reading Cisco's website it appears
to be related more to the 5000 series than it is the 2900 series. Given
that, is it possible to learn on the 2948G-L3 switch in preparation for the
CCIE lab? I don't want to have to purchase a 5000 if I can avoid it.
